A three-act play by Anne Washburn that follows the evolution of a Simpsons episode into myth and ritual in a post-apocalyptic world. In Act I, survivors near a campfire try to reconstruct the "Cape Feare" episode from memory to pass the time. Seven years later, in Act II, this memory has become the basis for a theatrical troupe's performance. Finally, 75 years later in Act III, the story has transformed into a grand, epic, operatic ritual with new musical numbers and characters, including a conflict between a Mr. Burns character and Bart.
